MASC is made up of secondary schools in Massachusetts which have student councils or similar organizations that shall be eligible for membership in the organization upon payment of annual dues. A Students Activities Registration Form/Invoice is sent to every MSSAA high school and middle school principal in Massachusetts. The form lists four activities, including student council that the principal may elect to join. Once the decision has been made as to which activities your school has elected to sponsor, and the principal has selected to take part in student council, a check must be made payable to MSSAA (Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators' Association).
MASC Dues: If the school has at least one administrator that is a full member of the MSSAA
If the school has no administrators that are full members of the MSSAA the registration fee is
MASC member schools are all permitted to attend all state conferences and events as long as dues are paid. Also, MASC shall be a member of the National Association of Student Councils and shall be represented at National Association of Student Councils annual conferences as well as other NASC meetings and workshops. Also MASC member schools of MASC are divided into the four regions to be known as Western, Central, Northeastern, and Southeastern.
MASC member schools are eligible to receive numerous awards, scholarships, and recognition for outstanding achievement. MASC member schools receive our newsletter and all other information relative to state, regional or national awards, conferences, and programs. The two state conferences and the Summer Leadership Training Program provide opportunities and enrichment for high school students and advisors. If you are unsure of your membership status, please call the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators’ Association in Franklin, (508) 541-9818 and ask for Margie.
Please check with your principal to ensure that he/she has completed the registration process. Schools must be registered for Student Council in order to attend any state conferences/events. |
