Hello MASC! What an incredible expedition we have had this past year. I hope you have all found your own leadership paths and continue to follow them as far as they will take you. As you continue to excel as leaders in your own schools and communities, remember what you have learned this year, and utilize that knowledge to lead your schools to bigger and better things. Each of you have proven your leadership promise this past year , I have faith that you will continue to do so in the future. Our expedition began at Presidents' Dinner, and continued forward at last year's Officershop. Those in attendance did an incredible job representing your schools. Then, our expedition finally reached the peak of its climb at the MASC Conference in Hyannis this past Spring. Through workshops, speakers, and the mixing of ideas and schools, I hope that you all walked away from the conference with a wealth of new knowledge and a renewed vigor in your Student Council activities. As this year draws to a close, I remind you that this is by no means the end of your "Expedition Leadership." While the school year is ending, your own personal journeys must continue to move forward. Follow the path that you have set for yourself, and great things will result. Another amazing year is on its way, and with the 2011-2012 Executive Board hard at work to provide another jaw-dropping MASC experience, I have confidence that we will succeed as one MASC. As you begin to reorganize your councils for the upcoming year, remember everything that MASC has taught you. Lead for those who may be afraid to step up, for sometimes they need a push to get them started on their journey. Speak up for those who voice is often lost in the crowd, because their ideas are just as great. Most importantly, do not follow the footsteps of those who came before you. Blaze a new path for your councils, one that is distinctly your own. With a new year comes a new expedition, and together MASC, we can rise to new heights.
Sincerely, Richie Bernache M.A.S.C. President Rockland High School |
