MASC Officershop is the first conference of the year and is held at Holy Cross College. While the Spring and Summer conferences concentrate on student council membership as a whole, Officershop is geared towards educating student council executive boards in how to effectively manage and lead their student councils. During the conference all student attendees will have a chance to participate in two workshops. All of the workshops at Officershop are presented by MASC Executive Board Officers with the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Webmaster giving workshops on their respective positions while the Delegates and Regional Presidents get to choose topics that they feel could benefit councils across Massachusetts. While students attend workshops, all advisors participate in round tables and collect ideas and advice from other advisors throughout the state.
At the conference, the year's first business meeting is also called to order. During the meeting, the year's MASC theme is disclosed as well as what the MASC service project will be in addition to other announcements. By the time the conference is over all attendees leave with new ideas on how to make their student council even better and a glimpse at what is in store for MASC through the year.
The registration cost for the 2007 Officershop will be $20 per person and is due by October 5. Registration begins at 8AM and will continue until 9AM.
